Call To Prayer

As I sat in the Pepper's living room this morning at 5AM (the fun of changing time zones...you wake up well before you actually want to) I could hear the call to prayer going out from the local mosque. In recent years Islam has been growing in Uganda, and now about 20% of Mbarara is Islamic. As much as I would have loved to sleep past 4 this morning, it is a blessing to have woken up so early as in hearing the call to prayer I am reminded of the spiritual need that is in this place. What better way to start my first full day in Mbarara than with a reminder of why my work is needed here.
