Aim High Or Low?

Last night I was at a fellowship with IMB President, Executive Vice President, and Vice President of Overseas Operations. One of the questions that a fellow Journeyman raised during that time concerned the dilemma that exists in attempting to set realistic goals: how does one avoid setting the goal too high and becoming disappointed/disillusioned without setting the goal too low and underachieving. Clyde Meador, the Executive VP, had a great response: setting lower goals in order to avoid disappointment is a cop out; if you have to choose between aiming to high and dealing with disappointment or aiming too low, always aim high. God will minister to the disappointment.
